Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions include co-funding of regional, national and international programmmes that fund or manage doctoral programmes or fellowships, with the aim of boosting the international and intersectorial dimensions and supporting researchers’ career development.
There are two types of COFUND projects types based on experience of researchers:
Mobility rule: Researchers supported under this scheme shall comply with the mobility rules of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions: researchers may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline, or recruitment date (COFUND).

The European Commission provides co-funding for the budget, which may include the own resources of organizations implementing the project, national or industry resources, but also funding from the Structural Funds. The budget is calculated on the basis of the planned number of months of admitted researchers, and should provide for funds for the recruitment of researchers, research, trainings, travellings, management and indirect costs. The EC co-finances only two of the above categories:
