Description of the project
The project deals with one of the most important pheomenon in nuclear physics: the fission of atomic nuclei. The common investigation of the Polish and Chinese teams consist of the following main tasks:
- Evaluation within the macroscopic-microscopic model of potential-energy surfaces for cold as well as hot and rotating nuclei in a large deformation parameter range starting with oblate shapes and ending with scission conforgurations.
- The potential energy calculations from the qst point will be repeated for dsome selected nuclei using the selfconsitent mean-field approach together with Gogny effective interaction.
- Solving of the Langevin equation for the dissipative fission dynamics coupled with the Master equations for particle evaporation for several heavy (Z<76), excited and rotating nuclei potentially accessible in the experiment.
- An appropriate 3D collective Hamiltonians describing low energy nuclear fission will be constructed and their eigenstates evaluated within the WKB and Born-Oppenheimer approximation will be used to obtain the fission-fragment mass and total kinectic-energy (TKE) yields.
