For the 2022 edition - from 6 till 9 September - for the first time, the Clean Planet directorate of the Research and Innovation Directorate-General of the European Commission will have a large stand, to promote European research and to present how research and innovative contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal in reaching climate-neutrality in the maritime sector.
The programme will include short presentations from the Directorate-General of Research and Innovation, along with other Commission services like Directorate General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Directorate General for Climate (DG CLIMA), European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA). It will showcase the link between the European Union’s green shipping policies and innovation, through a selection of EU research projects that will be presented, to illustrate the achievements of European waterborne research and innovation.
Throughout the week, (6-9 September)) the European Commission has scheduled a series of sessions on green, sustainable, safe and digital shipping, starting with a session with high-level keynote speakers from the Commission. They will offer their deep insight of the industry and present the role of the European Union in this strategic industry.
